In their own words
The Chinese Instrumental Music Club introduces students to traditional Chinese instruments and the unique musical system behind them. Unlike band or choir, we focus on instruments such as the guzheng, erhu, dizi, and pipa, each with techniques not found in Western music. Members will learn to read numbered notation, explore pentatonic scales, and understand the theory that shapes Chinese compositions. We welcome all skill levels, from beginners to experienced players. Whether you already play an instrument or simply want to learn something new, we offer a space to explore this rich musical tradition and connect with others who share an interest in Chinese culture and music.
